Region Nine Housing Corporation (RNHC) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable housing and community support for low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. With more than 1,200 units across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, RNHC stays true to its roots in social justice—offering not just housing, but meaningful resources that help residents live independently.
Region Nine came to Sussman looking to modernize their website and create a digital experience that truly reflected their mission. Their previous site was difficult to navigate, didn’t effectively communicate their impact, and offered no way for applicants to submit forms online. With such an important audience (including seniors and individuals with disabilities), accessibility, clarity, and trust were essential.
We restructured the site from the ground up with an accessibility-first approach. The new design introduced a more human-centered visual system, pairing real community photography with clean typography and Region Nine’s familiar green palette, softened with neutral tones for a welcoming, trustworthy feel. Practical tools like “search by ZIP,” state and county filters, and newly designed floor plans made it significantly easier for users to find properties that fit their needs. We also built user-friendly online application forms, streamlining a previously offline and often confusing process.
The redesigned website now provides a clear, intuitive path for residents and applicants to get the information and resources they need, while finally giving Region Nine a digital presence that matches the impact of the work they do every day.
